Eyes on HIM

In this tunnel, moving forward

progressing to the light of my Lord

focusing on His way, His will

emptying me, with HIS spirit fill

Looking back down the path

I was not meant to suffer wrath

Steps I took outside HIS gate

are the steps that lead to pain

Focus on HIM, His will, His way

Lord don't let me ever stray

though things might enter to distract

Let it no part of my walk impact

Your Word within me, all consume

my love to You is sweet perfume

Put blinders on me so I won't see

the flesh the calls and beckons me

Give me strength to only press on

and Wisdom's insight dusk to dawn

clothed in your righteousness not mine

no greater peace for me to find
